Ikigai: trovare il senso della vita per essere felici

We decided to create this small object, a bookmark themed around Ikigai.

What is Ikigai? Let’s reveal it to you right here, and explain why we love to talk about it.

For those who don’t know, Ikigai is a Japanese concept, almost untranslatable, with many interpretations. Simply put, it comes from the combination of four characters that together can be translated as: “iki” meaning “to live,” and “gai” meaning “reason,” “purpose,” “worth,” “value,” or “meaning of life.”

We like to summarize it as “the purpose of life.”

We love it because, now more than ever, when all we seem to hear about are crises, uncertainty, pain, and tragedies, we believe it’s important to find—or at least seek—something that brings light to our everyday lives. Finding your own “ikigai,” your reason for being, a purpose, the engine that gives you energy each day… or at least trying to.

Each of us has our own “ikigai,” which can be different and may change throughout our lives. Not everyone is aware of it: sometimes it’s hidden, but we must make an effort to find it. It’s the foundation for living a healthy, full, satisfying, and simply happy life.

We love sharing this message with you, just as we read it ourselves and felt inspired. It’s not a fairy tale or a magic cure for all problems, but it’s a small message full of energy.

Do you like this message? You can keep it, pass it on, or give it to someone dear to you. It’s a meaningful wish. A small act of positivity: happiness lies in the little things that often leave a mark. This is for you.
